Gadget Show Live

In 2009 Upper Street Events created the Gadget Show Live; a four hall exhibition boasting some of the world’s latest technology.

Upper Street Events approached Interchange with a set of event requirements which included event ticketing; the sale of seated Super Theatre tickets; trade registration; security photo-badging for exhibitors, crew, staff and venue personnel; full onsite entrance management including Super Theatre and entrance ticket sales and lead recording services for exhibiting companies.

Event ticketing included the purchase of event tickets delivered either electronically (E-TICKET) or by post with the addition of sales of Super Theatre seats again either delivered electronically (E-TICKET) or by post. With limited Theatre capacity in each of three sessions on each day of the event it was vital that Theatre seats automatically stopped selling as blocks sold out. To add to the complication Upper Street Events also wanted a ticketing solution that captured detailed information about the event’s ticket purchasing audience.

Now in its 6th year, the Gadget Show ticket booking page is one of our most sophisticated. It allows the sale of multiple ticket options, theatre tickets with immediate block allocation, show guides and VIP packages.

The online form also collects contact information and demographic data about the ticket purchaser and allows Upper Street Events back office access to this information in real time.

There are separate and dedicated online forms for trade visitor registration, press registration and a form that allows exhibiting companies to request photo security passes for their staff by the submission of names and photographs online.

Due to the popularity of The Gadget Show, this event regularly sells out. At Upper Street Event’s request, Interchange created a bespoke digital ticket tearing (DTT) system that stopped tickets being duplicated and used for entry. This software has now been rolled out across many of our other consumer events to ensure secure event entry.
